With this weeks release of Muse's seventh studio album Drones, the trio of Matthew Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Christopher Wolstenholme returned to their ways of heavy riffs and rapid-fire sound. The band released a new sci-fi video for their track, "Mercy," chock-full of messages against increasing technology.

The clip releases for "Psycho" and "Reapers" dabbled in matters concerning a militant and controlled nation. "Mercy" dives into brainwashing technology in its entirety, incorporating an eerie, Stepford Wives theme. Directed by Sing J Lee, the video follows a model who comes to the realization that she's a clone, reports Yahoo News. Taking place in a sanitary, futuristic space, male scientists are fiercely working on creating the ideal female android. The androids' every move are monitored by scientists while they're told to complete senseless duties.

In true Muse fashion, a rebellion ensues when the main female android stumbles upon a look-alike and then into a room gathered with women who look just like her. The android was prompted to rebel by notes found in between book pages, which led her to snap awake and fling the notes at the glass wall created between her and the scientists. She continues to run away and sacrifice her life by pressing a large, fire-truck red reset button, awakening all other androids.

Muse will head out on summer tours in Europe, Asia and South America, leading into the fall-North American dates have yet to be announced. Front man Bellamy told Rolling Stone a bit of teaser information concerning the Drones live show, "Its going to be even more theatrical than probably any show we've done in North America. I don't want to promise too much, but we want to incorporate drones into the show. I don't know what health and safety will allow us to do though."
