Motley Crue is taking all the steps necessary to ensure that it won't return after its final show on New Year's Eve, and that includes hiring Alice Cooper to kill them off, at least according to rumors.

Many bands claim to be entering their final tour, only to come back a few years later and do the same thing all over again. Although Crue's final run will ultimately be a lengthy two-year trek complete with two North American and one European leg, the members have stood by their claims that the December 31 show at the Staples Center in hometown Los Angeles will be the last stand. The members—Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, Mick Mars and Tommy Leeeven signed a legal document to make it lawsuit-worthy if they try to play again. That covers the legal basis...but how about the theatrical basis?

That's where Cooper comes in. The iconic rocker has been touring with the band as an opener for much of its final run, and he'll reach deep into his bag of tricks to assist the band off of the stage for good (again, based on reports). He suggested a while back that he would assassinate the band onstage, a move that the "original shock rocker" has done with his own group many a time. He was joking but it seems the guys have taken him up on it.

"The idea was, because people were saying, 'It's not really gonna be the end,' and I go, 'New Year is their last show. You know how I know? Because I'm gonna kill them at the end,'" he said. "Of course I was kidding, but Tommy said that wasn't a bad idea, with a machine gun and blood packs."

Lee joked (presumably) that he wasn't going to stop at special effects.

"No blood packs," he replied. "Real bullets. We're tired, we're old, we're cranky. You've gotta put us down."

Good luck getting tickets for the execution, Crue fans.
