Miranda Lambert is just the latest musician to face intense vocal cord issues, and it's forced the "Little Red Wagon" singer to cancel a concert appearance. Today (July 8), Lambert announced that she will no longer be able to perform this Thursday at the Calgary Stampede in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Due to serious inflammation in her vocal cords, Lambert was forced to postpone her July 9 concert at the Calgary Stampede, Taste of Country reports. The news was confirmed on Calgary Stampede's Facebook page.

"I'm so sorry that I can't be at Stampede this week, but I'll be back in Calgary just as soon as I can for all of my Stampede fans," Lambert said in a statement.

The concert is due to be rescheduled, though no postponed date has yet to be announced. Though tickets for Lambert's concert will be honored at the future date, organizers for the weeklong Calgary Stampede (which includes Western fare from rodeos to constant country music) still hope Lambert fans will come to the event itself.

"We understand that this news is disappointing for fans," said Paul Rosenberg, Chief Operating Officer, Calgary Stampede. "We will know more about rescheduling the concert later; in the meantime, we hope that fans use their tickets for admission to Stampede and enjoy all that we have to offer- including live country music at Nashville North."

Performances at this year's Calgary Stampede still include appearances from Lambert's husband Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean and Stevie Wonder.

Lambert is next due to perform on July 17 in Minot, North Dakota.
