Update: Young Thug has been arrested for threatening to kill a mall cop, reports TMZ. Last week, Thug was reportedly asked to leave a Georgia mall for reasons undisclosed. While being escorted out, Thug allegedly told one of the guards "he was going to shoot one of them in the face."
P&P has obtained the arrest warrant, which shows Thug accused of "TERRORISTIC THREATS, for that the accused threatened to shoot the victim in the face with the purpose of terrorizing Mr. Chris May," the mall cop in question.
Young Thug, real name Jeffery Williams, has been arrested by U.S. Marshals on charges of "terroristic threats." He was apprehended "without incident" at 6 a.m. this morning in Sandy Springs, Georgia. There was an outstanding warrant for Thug's arrest by the Dunwoody police department, which, this morning, was executed by U.S. Marshals.
Jim Joyner, spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, has released a statement on Thug's arrest:
"Williams was wanted on an outstanding warrant charging him with terroristic threats stemming from an incident that occurred with the jurisdiction of the Dunwoody police."
Joyner has also said Williams' initial court appearance and bond hearing will occur at DeKalb County Jail, where we assume he is being held now.
No further information on the nature of Thug's charges, or on his "terroristic" allegations, has been provided.
Before this bizarre piece of breaking news, Thug had been planning the imminent release of Slime Season with his main producer London on da Track, his second mixtape of the year after the critically-acclaimed, but controversial, Barter 6.
Barter 6 borrowed its name from Lil Wayne's seminal Carter album series, which initially angered Wayne, who finds himself in a legal battle with Cash Money Records boss Birdman, who happens to be one of Thug's mentors. Wayne has since spoken out and squashed any alleged beef with the Barter rapper (though not with Birdman).
