Electro outfit Chvrches announced details for their forthcoming tour earlier this week. Set to coincide with the release of their sophomore LP Every Open Eye, the Scottish three-piece plans to spend the latter days of summer in the UK before playing an extensive series of shows in the US. "Highly anticipated" by many, the follow up to 2013's The Bones of What You Believe will undoubtedly impress critics and fans alike.

Quoted  describing their new album as "pretty emosh" in an interview with Pitchfork, lead vocalist Lauren Mayberry and her band mates' have voiced that they  consciously aimed to "avoid making a 'mature' album." "There's important lyrical content," synth player Martin Doherty promises. "We're still pushing the same emotional boundaries, but also trying to make it as accessible as possible.

"Leave a Trace," which was released last week as a lyric video, is living proof that the band has accomplished their goal. Clean backbeats and flawless vocals make this danceable anthem instantaneously memorable. Irresistible pop hooks serve as the perfect foundation for a would-be love song; the track's emotives are pragmatic yet forthright. Far from playing coy, the song's "incisive lyrics" feel confessional without coming off trite. In short, the song is faultlessly sincere.

"We all love pop music, we love great melodies, classic songwriting, Iain Cook explained in a recent interview. As suggested by the rhythm of "Leave a Trace," Chvrches want "people actually" dancing at their shows. With their most recent track, it can be assumed that Every Open Eye will make even the most stoic of fans yearn for the dance floor.

Featured as one of last week's Pitchfork Festival's most celebrated acts, Chvrches live set is something that most definitely should not be missed.
