Things haven't looked good for Bobby Shmurda in a while and it's only gotten worse since we last checked in, as the performer could be facing an additional seven years in prison for charges that his girlfriend snuck a shank onto Rikers Island for him.

Ackquille "Bobby Shmurda" Pollard has been held at New York City's most notorious prison since December in relation to charges tied to drugs, weapons and gang activity. He was arrested again, within the prison (yes, that's a real thing), when guards discovered he was in possession of a "sharpened metal object."

Prosecutors have alleged that Kimberly Rousseau, the rapper's girlfriend, snuck the item into the prison by hiding it in her bra. Shmurda didn't make things any better for himself by lying to a grand jury about the incident. If he's convicted of "promoting prison contraband," he could face up to seven years in prison, as the charge is a Class D felony. The charges that landed him in Rikers to begin with come with up to 25 years in prison.

Somewhat terrifying to consider that Shmurda is only 20-years-old at the moment.

Rousseau has also been charged with a felony as well as a misdemeanor count of promoting prison contraband and criminal possession of a weapon.

If the charges come through on the Brooklyn rapper, he'll have one of the quickest rises and falls in music history. His single "Hot N*gga" rose to no. 6 on the Hot 100 upon its release during July of 2014, and then his debut EP Shmurda She Wrote dropped during November. A little more than a month later, he was arrested.
