Earlier in the year, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker announced their split from long-time front man and companion Tom DeLonge, when the singer reportedly refused to head back to the studio to record fresh Blink material. The duo continued to explain that they're in the midst of a "friendly divorce" with the displaced musician.

Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba stepped up to replace DeLonge for a number of shows and recently announced he'd be recording with the band in a new line-up. Now, DeLonge admits that he'd be ready to resolve issues and rejoin the band. While attending San Diego's Comic-Con to promote his latest graphic novel, DeLonge was questioned about the break-up and what it would take to get the original trio back together. He replied, "probably just a few phone calls," according to NME.

Hoppus described the band's relationship with DeLonge, explaining, "the love is still there," although they've embarked on separate journeys. Speaking those at the Das Process podcast, he said, "Tom was my best friend for years and years and the thing is if you think about the people that you were friends with at the end of high school and the beginning of college. How many of those people are you still friends with? We've been in the same van and bus and airplane and backstage room and stage for twenty something years."

On the other hand, with the band continuing performances with Skiba, drummer Travis Barker referred to their first live performance lacking the original front man as "a great feeling." Aside from the Blink dispute, DeLonge plans to unveil four albums and publish numerous novels over the span of the year.
