After a controversy arose from Katy Perry's new music video for chart-topper "Dark Horse," an edited version of the clip has now been re-uploaded to YouTube.

After the music video debuted last Thursday (Feb. 20), eagle-eyed fans noticed that in one scene, a man with the Arabic symbol for "Allah" (the word for "God") marked on him was burned to a crisp (and then dust), a highly offensive move for Islamic people.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, after UK resident Shazad Iqbal noticed the symbolism in the music video, he made a call for YouTube to remove the clip in a Change.org petition. "At 01:15 into the video Dark Horse; a man is shown being burned, whilst wearing a pendant (also burned) forming the word 'Allah', which is the arabic word for God. Such goes to show, that blasphemy is clearly conveyed in the video, since Katy Perry (who appears to be representing an opposition of God) engulfs the believer and the word God in flames," the petition reads.

Over 65,000 people around the world signed the petition.

After the controversy made its way around the Internet, a new version, sans Allah symbol was re-uploaded to YouTube.

Katy Perry herself has yet to directly address the "Dark Horse" controversy.
