Jamie xx Opens "Good Times" Storefront In New York City

Everyone outside of the Grinch and Billy Corgan likes to have a good time. Even the normally sad-looking Jamie xx, who produced one of the songs of the summer ("I Know There's Gonna Be (Good Times)") with Young Thug and Popcaan from his debut album In Colour, likes to have some fun. The "Gosh" producer, alongside his label Young Turks, is bringing those good times to a new pop-up store in New York City at 312 Bowery (Play Shop At The Hole).

The shop will be open from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., giving the normal 9-to-5 drones time to get there right after work. It will be in operation from now until Sunday Aug. 16.

Inside the store will be various exclusive apparel, merchandise and records for sale, all organized rather neatly. During the week, some local DJs handpicked by xx with stop in to spin for shoppers as they peruse the items in the store. 

Jamie xx is investing heavily in New York City right now after a gig on Saturday night at Terminal 5 and then hosting a special Boiler Room set on Monday night where Young Thug came out to perform "Good Times" live.

He will perform again in the Big Apple on Sunday for a Verboten party outside at 50 Kent with Maya Jane Coles, Andhim and others on Sunday, Aug. 23.

 Jamie's @jamie___xx Good Times Store is open 11AM till 7PM every day till Sunday 16th August and is located at 312 Bowery (on the corner of 1st) in Manhattan, NYC. Jamie has a bunch of his records and CDs for sale (the first 50 copies are signed), as well as a few tapes of his mixes through the years. There's also Jamie xx & Young Turks merchandise, including slip mats, tshirts, hats etc. Jamie and a few of his favourite selectors - Mike Simonetti @mikesimonetti (2MR/Italians Do It Better), Tim Sweeney @bisradio (Beats In Space) and Ethan Silverman @terriblerecords (Terrible Records) went down to the mighty A1 Records @a1recordshop and picked out some records they love. Come check them out and hear them on the system. 100% of the cash for these goes back to A1. Later in the week we'll be hosting Jamie's favourite NYC DJs from the store. More news to come!
