Meek Mill can rest easy for a moment, as there's a new beef that has taken over Twitter between Zayn Malik and Calvin Harris. It all started when the former One Direction singer retweeted a tweet comparing Miley Cyrus to Taylor Swift, painting Cyrus in a more honorable light than Swift, who is, of course, Harris' girlfriend.

The EDM producer then got on his Twitter to defend his girl, Malik took his words as an affront and then things got ugly.

Later on, as the beef seemed to subside, another One Direction member, Louis Tomlinson, got involved, via a simple "favorite," and he didn't side with his former bandmate.

Malik retweeted a picture posted on the account @FemaleTexts ("B*tch Problems") that put a quote by Swift on her decision to remove her music from Spotify above one from Cyrus detailing how the Bangerz singer will still be content if no one buys her music. Below the latter quote is also a description of Cyrus' charity designed to raise awareness for homeless and LGBT youth, the Happy Hippie Foundation. Malik retweeted the post, and then tweeted, "G statement," which Harris took as shade to his girlfriend and her mission to protect artist royalties as streaming services take over the industry.

FemaleTexts has since deleted the tweet (which started the whole feud), though it can still be seen below.

Harris tweeted at both Malik and FemaleTexts in support of Swift and her use of her "celebrity" to "benefit every other musician and songwriter in the industry."

Though Harris' first tweet was aimed at Malik, it's unclear if his ensuing tweets, those about fundamentally misunderstanding Swift's attempts to protect no-name musicians, were meant to implicate him as well. In any case, Malik clearly thought they were, and he responded to Harris by saying he "made an absolute fool" of himself and that it was he who was guilty of misunderstanding.

Harris attempted to salvage the situation by saying his issue was with the original post that seemed to bash Swift's efforts, but it's likely that Malik was already typing his next shot -- a nasty one at that -- before he caught wave of Harris' attempt at reconciliation.

Harris didn't seem too perturbed by Malik's aggressive threat to knock his "dentures" out, nor by Malik's ensuing claim that he the writes his own "sh*t," therefore implying that Harris does not. Harris, thus far, has had the last say in the back and forth, and he seems to be taking the high road, praising Malik's voice and wishing him well -- how genuinely, though, is up for debate.

Alas, though, as Twitter spats these days rarely remain in the confines of the original combatants, another massive star soon entered the fray, and it happened to be Malik's former bandmate, Louis Tomlinson. Though Tomlinson didn't actually contribute any words of his own to the argument, he seemed to join Team Harris with one simple click of the "favorite" button, supporting Harris' first tweet aimed at Malik. Yikes!
