One Direction is, in fact, taking a break next year. But worry not, Directioners, the boys themselves assure that they will be back one day. After rumors surrounding the "Drag Me Down" band swirled across the Internet earlier this week, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson addressed the break up and hiatus rumors.

And they promise that this isn't the end of One Direction, it really is a break.

Beginning Sunday (April 23), news hit that 1D would be releasing its yet-to-be titled fifth studio album before the end of 2015 and then would go on "indefinite hiatus" to pursue solo albums and other projects. In the world of boy bands, this news is as good as a break up (as we recall, NSYNC is still on hiatus), so fans were understandably distressed.

However, Horan addressed the break up rumors, insisting that 1D still has plenty left to accomplish and that the band will, in fact, get back together some day.

Tomlinson also confirmed that One Direction wasn't going anywhere - the band really is just taking some time off.

Reports say that the hiatus will begin in March 2016, after the release of One Direction's new album. The band is allegedly not going to tour to support the release.
