With the performances coming in every 10-15 minutes, the 2015 MTV VMAs calls upon the biggest pop star in the world, Justin Bieber to perform his brand new single "What Do You Mean" with "Where Are Ü Now."

Bieber appeared on stage solo bathed in blue light, starting by singing his hit single with Skrillex and Diplo "Where Are U Now." After one verse and chorus, he transitioned into his new single "What Do You Mean."

During the chorus he would reach down and shake the hands of one lucky fan and serenade them. The lights went dark and during that time, he was put into a harness and lifted up into the air to fly around the stage.

The most memorable image of the performance that will live on well into the future was Bieber breaking down at the end into tears, overcome by emotion after getting philosophical with a short pre-recorded speech.

There have been a whole host of surprise appearances from Iggy Azalea and Taylor Swift, but Skrillex and Diplo were nowhere to be found. Not surprising how busy they are with touring schedules.

Bieber has been quiet in 2015, prepping a brand new album. His single with Skrillex and Diplo "Where Are Ü Now" has become a global summer smash and the trio have performed it at festivals all across the United States.

"What Do You Mean" is the first single from Bieber's upcoming artist album.
