Nine Inch Nails are currently in Australia co-headlining a tour with Queens of the Stone Age. In a recent interview with triple j, Reznor mentioned that he'd like to see more co-headlining tours. Now, it looks as if he has another one lined up, this time with Soundgarden.

As The PRP points out (via Consequence of Sound), LiveNation.com briefly had a co-headlining date listed on their site featuring Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden, scheduled for August 17 in Dallas, Texas. The posting was quickly taken down, but both bands shared videos of a similar aesthetic shortly after.

Nine Inch Nails have announced plans to return to North American in 2014 in continued support of their latest LP, Hesitation Marks, and Soundgarden will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album Superunknown. Both have gigs at South By Southwest and Sasquatch! Music Festival. So it's not unlikely that the two could have something planned together.

If this does turn out to be true, it will be the first time the rock rivals have performed together since their infamous show in Molson Park, Ontario, in 1994.

In a 2009 interview, Reznor talked about their rivalry saying, ""We had a chip on our shoulder about Soundgarden because their record came out the same day Downward Spiral came out and they beat us to #1 on Billboard. That became a kind of professional showdown."

According to the brief listing, tickets go on sale next Friday. A user on Reddit has identified some of the venues featured in the teasers, so it's possible that those cities are the ones slated for the joint tour.
