The nominees are in for the first-ever Latin American Music Awards. Nicky Jam and Enrique Iglesias lead the pack with eleven nominations between the two.

Jam received six nominations including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Favorite Streaming Song for his hit “El Perdón,” which features Iglesias. Trailing closely behind, Iglesias received five nods, three of which are for “El Perdón."

Newcomer J Balvin is nominated in five categories as well counting New Artist of the Year and Favorite Male Artist – Urban. Balvin also received nominations recognizing his smash “Ay Vamos.”

Romeo Santos, Maná and Calibre 50 each have four nominations. Elsewhere, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez are contenders in the Favorite Crossover Artist and Favorite Dance Song categories respectively.

As previously reported, nominees were selected based on fan interactions with music, sales, airplay, streaming and social activity. Billboard tracked all data through Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound.

The Latin American Music Awards will air live Oct. 8 on Telemundo from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Taking a cue from the American Music Awards, this marks the first time a Dick Clark Productions awards show is recast in a Spanish language version.

Voting, powered by Telescope Inc., responsible for The Voice, La Voz Kids, Premios Tu Mundo and more, has officially begun here.
