Earlier this week, news broke that Big Boi and Phantogram had formed a surprising new collaboration titled Big Grams and were taking it very seriously putting out a 7-track album with features from Skrillex and Run The Jewels, in addition to creating various multi-media features surrounding it and doing some shows. Now we can hear the first song from this exciting collaboration "Fell In the Sun" and it is everything we hoped it would be and more.

"Fell In The Sun" is more hip-hop then the electronic rock you know and expect from Phantogram, but it still manages to marry the two world together seamlessly. Phantogram producer Josh Carter dons a new hat and puts together a funky, horn-heavy beat that still stays grounded in familiar territory for Big Boi to rap over, while Phantogram singer Sarah Barthel's vocals soar throughout the chorus.

Big Boi keeps it cool and fresh with his rhymes and Barthel adds an extra dimension to this track.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Barthel described the track with Skrillex as "very dark-adelic." "The idea behind it was as simple and plain as drum machines, but they can get pretty aggressive," she explains. "Some of the kicks and snares sound like machine guns."

"It's a new project. It's not Phantogram; it's not Big Boi. It's a whole new idea," Barthel tells RS. "We wanted to have a time where we could not stress about the 'Phantogram sound' or collaborating on a hip-hop record. We wanted to experiment and have fun with it. The main focus of wanting to do this project was to do things that we wouldn't normally do anywhere else. This was a good platform for that because it's less judgmental to think about it in that way."
