Tame Impala took over U.S. television on Wednesday night (Oct. 8) when they took to the stage on Late Show With Stephen Colbert to perform their Currents track "The Less I Know The Better."

With a disco-inspired light show and a trippy backdrop, the long-haired Kevin Parker provided airy vocals for the tune found on their third studio album, which was released on July 17 via Interscope Records. Following the intermediate success of debut album Innerspeaker and their sophomore album Lonerism, Kevin Parker and company decided to take a more "dance-leaning" route for their third go-around.

Colbert may be getting in the game of introducing the biggest star power, alongside Taylor Swift, Dave Grohl and fellow late night host Jimmy Fallon. Paul Simon, Florence + the Machine, Kendrick Lamar and Dan Aurbach's The Arcs all commanded the Late Show stage as of late, where Colbert has recently taken the reigns from former host David Letterman.

In June, Tame Impala ran into a bit of legal trouble when royalty payments of over $450,000 were being withheld from the band by Modular Recordings founder Steve Pavlovic. According to Stereogum, rights management organization BMG took to the band's aid by filing a lawsuit, which was recently dismissed, leading Pavlovic to be cleared.

"I'm deeply sorry for any upset caused to Tame Impala given that I've always been a staunch supporter and fan of the band; and to BMG given the relationship we've always enjoyed with them," Pavlovic said of the situation in a statement. "I also regret the heavy handed press coverage of this aspect of Modular's affairs which was completely inaccurate and out of hand. However I hope that with Universal and Modular's respective obligations to BMG on behalf of Tame Impala now resolved that a line can finally be drawn under this unfortunate chapter," he continued.

The Perth, Australia rockers will close out the year on tour in Australia and New Zealand, ringing in 2016 as they travel throughout Europe. They'll end in the UK for a number of dates at the Manchester Arena and London's Alexandra Palace on Feb. 11, 12 and 13.
