After the success of Jamie xx, Young Thug and Popcaan's "I There's Know Gonna Be (Good Times)," it shouldn't be surprising that more artists would want to combine that summery, melodic house sound with hip-hop and dancehall. In steps Norwegian DJ, producer Matoma who has made his living remixing classic hip-hop tracks so far and with his first big original, tabs Wale and Popcaan (sound familiar) in the new single "Feeling Right (Everything Is Nice)."
The track has the cheerful, relaxed feel that comes with Matoma production that is cool for the summer as Popcaan handles the hook, assuring listeners that "everything is nice." Wale dons a slight accent for the track and keeps it chill during his two verses.
Matoma describes the track as something to help you get through some of the tougher times ahead.
"This song is all about meeting challenges in life but if you are surrounded with good energy from your love ones 'everything is nice'".
Matoma told us he would be working with some exciting artists in the coming months when we spoke to him at the Billboard Hot 100 Festival and he was right. Purchase "Feeling Right (Everything Is Nice)" on iTunes.
