After news broke at the end of August that the music world's current hit makers would put their own spin on Disney classics for a We Love Disney compilation album, Universal Studios producer David Foster further detailed how he got names like Ariana Grande, Gwen Stefani, Fall Out Boy and Ne-Yo to appear on the project and what the song-choice process was like.

"I was having lunch with Gwen Stefani, and I just popped out [asking], 'What's your favorite Disney song?' and she said, 'That's a strange question,'" Foster reminisces via Rolling Stone. "But then she thought about it, and she gave me one. I realized that everybody - young, old, hip, not hip, whoever - they all have some attachment to Disney, and it's always positive. In Gwen's case, she said, 'We used to sneak into [Disneyland] and watch bands. Then it was really cool to play there one day.' It wasn't as hard as I thought it was, in the end."

The complete compilation is due out on Oct. 30 via Verve Music Group, boasting a number of remade Disney favorites including Jessie J's rendition of The Little Mermaid's "Part Of Your World" and Fall Out Boy's pop punk take on The Jungle Book's "I Wan'na Be Like You," out today, as FuseTV notes.

"I think there is a fearlessness to Disney in moving forward but maintaining the heart of what has made them great," "Uma Thurman" artist Pete Wentz told Rolling Stone. "I think we wanted to come up with a song that not only we all loved but would translate and make sense as a Fall Out Boy song."

Foster offered his opinions to many of the Disney covers, many times choosing the song he felt paired best with each artist through their vocal range. Some artists, however, chose their own song's due to personal connections and childhood memories.

"With Ariana Grande, I had picked another song for her, and she wasn't feeling it," Foster details. "So then she came up with the Hercules song ["Zero to Hero"]. She knew it top to bottom. Without the lyrics, she could sing every single word. The decision was made on the spot. I wouldn't want to fight that, go against the grain of her knowing the song so well and loving it so much."

Jessie J. was another singer to choose her own song based on previous lyric knowledge, honing in on The Little Mermaid's "Part of Your World," while Kacey Musgraves put a Western twinge on the Mary Poppins classic "Spoon Full Of Sugar" and R&B mogul Ne-Yo focused on big band Aladdin's "Friend Like Me."
