The music world's resident goofball Mac DeMarco, took some time to help his guitarist's band Tonstartssbandht, by singing the group's song "Seriously" with puppets to a group of kids for a Sesame Street-style video.

Andy White and his brother Edwin voice puppet versions of themselves from behind a piano while DeMarco accompanies them on an acoustic guitar.

The clip opens with a cover of Neil Young's "Old Man" that has DeMarco lazily strumming along to the chords while the brothers sing a vocal part far higher than it needs to be.

Andy and Ed then lead the class in some vocal exercises that have the kids screaming and singing -- more or less on pitch.

Once everyone is nice an warmed up, the musicians teach the kids the main refrain from Tonstartssbandht's song "Seriously," which has the children singing, "Seriously, no matter what you say you're always going to get me down." Perhaps not the most uplifting message for kids, but they aren't the band's key demographic anyway.

The children are pretty shy at first but then they get really into it, stomping their feet and clapping hands as they dance about the stage. Andy and Ed try to come in with the main lyrics to the song while the kids repeat the main line, just like in the band's recorded version. However, it doesn't really land with the same kind of effectiveness as the mysterious looping of the original song.

The best moment might come at the very end when Ed randomly says, "My name is Larry," and Andy asks if his puppet brother is drunk.

According to Pitchfork, Deering Regan directed the video, which he said was inspired by clips of Paul Simon singing "Me & Julio" on Sesame Street as well as a performance of James Taylor singing "Jelly Man Kelly" on the kids program.
