On Monday (Oct. 26), fashion and style were celebrated during the first ever inaugural InStyle Awards ceremony at the Getty Center in Los Angeles. The night was filled with celebrities, wardrobe stylists, hairstylists, makeup artists, designers, and more. Hosted by Editorial Director Ariel Foxman, the popular magazine honored seven notable names in fashion and style.
The honorees included Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoë Kravitz, Ansel Elgort, Nicolas Ghesquiere, Charlotte Tilbury, Kate Young, and Serge Normant.
Zoë Kravitz: Best Dressed Breakthrough
When it comes to a woman who embodies effortless style, no one comes to mind quicker than Kravitz. While a unique fashion sense might run through her genes (hello, her parents are Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet), the 26-year-old actress and musician does her own thing. Starring in popular films like Mad Max: Fury Road, Dope, and the Divergent series, Zoë is catching the eye of many designers for her next red carpet appearance.
Ansel Elgort: Man of Style
The Fault in Our Stars actor continues to make a name for himself in Hollywood by starring in box office hit after box office hit. When he's not producing or DJing under the stage name, Ansolo, Elgort is showing off his fashionable attire on the street and the red carpet.
Gwyneth Paltrow: Style Icon
As a respected actress, emerging business woman, singer, and fashionista, it's no wonder InStyle chose the 43-year-old mother of two for this award.
Nicolas Ghesquiere: Designer of the Year
After 15 years working for Balenciaga, Ghesquiere now serves as Artistic Director for Louis Vuitton. His collections are always a topic of conversation. His clientele list is something to be admired, including Julianne Moore, Jennifer Lawrence, Zoë Saldana, Jennifer Connelly, Charlotte Gainsbourgh, Lupita Nyong'o, Alicia Vikander, Michelle Williams, and many more.
Charlotte Tilbury: Makeup Artist of the Year
This British makeup artist released a cosmetics and skin care line two years ago and it's already taken Hollywood by storm. She's worked with celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Penelope Cruz, Kat Moss, Miranda Kerr, and a plethora of runway models for multiple fashion shows.
Serge Normant: Hair Stylist of the Year
French hairstylist and author of two books, Normant, is constantly in-demand. With actresses like Julia Roberts and Sarah Jessica Parker who swear by his work, there's no wonder. Normant recently opened up a three-story salon in Manhattan and the waiting list is out the door!
Kate Young: Stylist of the Year
Styling the likes of Dakota Johnson and Sienna Miller, Young turned her talent into her own brand. Known for her attention to detail, some of her clients have even landed on the 50 Best Dressed Women in Hollywood list this year.
