Danzig, the stage name of former Misfits frontman Glenn Anzalone, allegedly punched a photographer during a concert in Montreal last week. Following the incident, Danzig reportedly told Loudwire, "I think this is going to be it" after one of his New York City shows this past week, asserting, "I'll do some shows here or there, but I don't think I'm going to tour anymore." The metal-infused horror punk pioneer will finish his remaining Blackest of the Black North American tour dates with Superjoint before retiring from the road.

Last weekend's alleged assault comes as no surprise to the diehard Danzig fans. He's always been pretty upfront about the policy, and hosting venues and festivals have certainly helped spread the word to concertgoers, including the media in attendance. Furthermore, in case anyone ever missed the memo, the artist's violent reactions to those who decide to break Danzig's rules have been immortalized in headlines countless times in the past few years alone. As Consequence of Sound reports, the artist "has a notoriously strict no-photo policy for his concerts, and he himself has been known to enforce it over the years. In 2012, Danzig chased a photographer off stage during his set in Bonnaroo. Earlier this year, meanwhile, he put a fan in a headlock after the fan took a photograph." Once he even encouraged the entire crowd to gang-up on an illicit videographer. The litany of examples can go on for pages, but you get the idea. Whether Danzig's aggressive approach to enforcing his "no cameras" policy is right or wrong, his serious dislike of unplanned photography and videography during his shows has been duly noted.

The end of this tour probably won't be the last we'll hear of Danzig: he has a new covers album, Skeletons, coming out at the end of November. In the meantime, rock out out to the artist's classic 1988 heavy metal jam, "Mother," below.
