Amidst all of the hoopla about Justin Bieber and One Direction, hip-hop is quietly making a case for an equally strong Friday with the release of Ty Dolla $ign's Free TC, Logic's The Incredible True Story and Jeezy's Church in These Streets. Church In These Streets is now available to stream and download.

Jeezy keeps things simple and to the point, eschewing the temptation the call upon his vast Rolodex of fellow artists for hooks and guest verses. Instead he handles almost all of the work himself, settling on a two features from Janelle Monáe and Monica.

The album is back to the street-driven, ATL sound that fans fell in love with when Jeezy first came up. In his eighth album, Jeezy has seen his ups and downs from his dominant era in the mid-2000s. Now a veteran, things have settled in as he accepts his role as a veteran leader of the current Atlanta rap, trap movement. The 19-track Church In These Streets adds another LP to that strong discography.

Jeezy takes a political route with some of the song intros and the "Eternal Reflection Interlude," which finds a woman railing against the injustices minorities face in the urban community, the privatized prison system and more.

If there is one thing to look forward with this album, it will be the new quotes that populate ESPN college basketball analyst and former Duke basketball player, Jay Bilas' Twitter feed. He quotes Jeezy every morning and ends with "I gotta go to work."
