While they were once contestants on The X-Factor, One Direction returned to the U.K. show to perform "Perfect" on the heels of the release of their new album, Made In The A.M. Members Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson also donned ribbons during the performance in order to pay homage to the tragedy in Paris this past Friday (Nov. 13). The band also had a chat with hosts Melvin Odoom and Rochelle Humes after the fact.

During the interview, a notable question posed by Odoom and Humes was the question of what it was like for the group to be back on The X-Factor. The band finished third of the seventh series of the show in 2010, which lead to their discovery and entrance into the music industry. They later signed to Simon Cowell's record label, Syco Records, when the show was finished.

They have performed on the show a few times since their run, but this time was the first that they were actually being judged and it was a full-circle moment for the group as it is due to take a hiatus from performing and recording in March of 2016. The members expressed that although they got nervous, being back on The X-Factor felt like home. They further said that "with home comes extreme nerves" in deference to the idea of in front of a judges panel.

Their appearance on The X-Factor is just one of a string of live shows that the group will be doing in order to promote Made In The A.M. Last week, it was announced that One Direction will be part of the "40 for 40" live stream event for Good Morning America tomorrow (Nov. 17) immediately followed by a stint of The Ellen DeGeneres Show as well as appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
