Chris Brown's 2009 assault against his ex-girlfriend Rihanna is continuing to hinder his career. This week alone, the "Fine By Me" singer has an appearance on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and an Australian tour cancelled because of his violence against women.

On Tuesday night (Dec. 1), Brown was slated to be a guest on Comedy Central's The Daily Show, but at the last minute he was replaced by comedian Nick Cannon. According to The Daily Beast, TV guides still said that Brown would be the guest, the Daily Show Instagram posted that Cannon would actually be the one to appear.

Though the network said that guests are always subject to be changed on The Daily Show, there are also claims that several staffers on the show were uncomfortable with having Brown on as a guest because of his past.

Noah reportedly wanted to take Brown's appearance as a learning moment where they would address domestic violence issues. Despite an all-staff meeting on Monday surrounding Brown's appearance on the show, he was replaced anyway.

Brown's scrapped promotional appearance isn't the only cancellation he's facing this week - his upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand was also indefinitely postponed. Brown failed to obtain a visa in Australia due to his domestic disputes, ABC News reports.

"People need to understand if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you: 'You cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia,'" former Australian immigration minister and current women's minister Michaelia Cash said in a statement.

However, Brown remains hopeful that he will one day be able to gain entry in Australia.
