Carrie Underwood is the latest singer to hop in to the passenger's seat with James Corden. On Wednesday night (Dec. 2), the "Heartbeat" singer appeared on The Late Late Show for a little carpool karaoke. Beyond the very expected (but still hilarious) "Jesus Take the Wheel" joke, the country superstar and talk show host bonded over a love of George Michael's Wham! and went shopping for some good ol' Western apparel.

The carpooling began, of course, with a heartfelt rendition of Underwood's lead Storyteller single "Smoke Break." And between bombastic renditions of "Jesus Take the Wheel" and the similarly vehicle-themed Underwood cut "Before He Cheats" (in which she sounds fantastic), we learned a few things about the American Idol alumna. For instance, she thinks that when he husband Mike Fisher fights during a hockey game that it's "kinda hot," she can hold a note for an "inordinately long time" and Underwood is a passionate Wham! fan and can sing every note to every one of the duo's songs.

And, of course, that leads to a breakout of "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go."

Like Corden did with Justin Bieber last month, Underwood and the British comedian took a little break from driving around Los Angeles to get a little makeover. As Corden traverses American and country music culture, he learned that he needs to start with some cowboy boots. As Underwood said, that is where he genres "roots" lay, after all.

The shopping trip is, of course, filled with some mishaps including a stubborn boot and incredibly expensive garments. ($2000 for a leather vest?!)

In the end, Corden buys a humble $200 10-gallon hat and wins our hearts.

Underwood's new album Storyteller is out now.
