Alesso has been relatively quiet these past few months, touring on the back of his debut album Forever released in May, though he has not shown off any new material. Now we get a glimpse at what is to come from the "Cool" DJ in a short teaser for a song potentially titled "Anthem," which will be released on New Year's Eve according to the Facebook post on alessoworld.com.

Though the clip is only 15 seconds long, fans do get a sense of what Alesso is putting together with this new gritty track. Much like his previous songs "PAYDAY" and "Tear The Roof" up, Alesso turns to his electro beats and supersaws for inspiration, instead of the emotional and uplifting melodies that many have come to know him for. The track is clearly meant for the dance floor, not only with the beat, but also with a robotic voice that commands the listener to get up onto the dance floor and dance.

"Why you sittin' down, you should be dancin' dancin' / The party is on the floor, this is the anthem," says the voice in the short clip.

The track, presumably titled "Anthem" will be released on New Year's Eve, though the timing does matter considering people start to lose their ability to do intelligent things as the clock moves closer to midnight.

This will kick off a new chapter for Alesso in 2016 where he will usher in his "less is more" concept for music and shows. Detailing his plan last month, Alesso said he would release several EPs throughout the EP and scale back his live touring to make sure that each show was bigger and more impactful in those markets as opposed to quick, fly-by shows that blend in with the rest. Each of the EPs will also him to "capture a period of time or an influence from a particular place and sound then encapsulate it in one piece of work and later move easily into a new phase."
