Zayn Malik may not be the only One Direction singer to go solo, it seems as though Harry Styles is eyeing his own career as well. In the wake of 1D's indefinite hiatus, the boy band's (arguably) biggest star has registered four new songs under his own name, fueling rumors that he's looking to release an album in the new year.

According to The Telegraph, Styles has co-written four new songs alongside the likes of Snow Patrol guitarist John McDaid and pop songwriter Gary Go. While that's not unusual (the boys of One Direction tend to write separately and bring their contributions to group sessions in studio), in the performer category on the ASCAP database, Harry Styles is listed as the sole performer.

The four songs planned for Styles' solo album (or perhaps EP) seem to have a personal connection to the 21-year-old superstar. One of the songs, "5378 Miles," is the distance between Styles' hometown and the city of Los Angeles, where he currently lives.

The other three registered songs in Styles' name have more ambiguous meanings. He also is listed as a performer for "Coco," "Endlessly" and "Already Home."

Other than Malik, who left One Direction in March to pursue his own career, the boy band member with the most solo buzz has been Styles. In August, it was reported that Sony Records had its eye on Styles for his own record deal, though the singer himself has dismissed the idea that he will be rolling solo in 2016.

One Direction's hiatus will officially begin in spring 2016. The band released its latest album, Made in the A.M., in November.
