Just recently, the electronics company, Altec Lansing, announced that they would be making headphones specifically tailored for DJ's. Not only are these headphones made for DJ's, but they have a built-in camera, so that when a DJ is on stage, he/she can record everything from their vantage point; similar to a GoPro camera, but revolutionary for DJ's and electronic music.

Announced at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas, Altec revealed its game-changing product, that is sure to create quite the buzz amongst DJs everywhere. According to PRNewsWire, Altec's new headphones will feature a built in DVR camera, which shoots in full 1080P and 30fps (frames per second). DJ's will be able to use the headphones to mix live and hear the music they're mixing through their headphones, however, on the left headphone, there will be a camera that DJs can turn on and off at any time during their performance and give fans a view of their mixing skills and the crowd itself, as if they were seeing the show through the eyes of the artist.

The camera in the headphones will come with an 8GB internal memory card, or DJs can buy an external card up to 32GB and the footage can be uploaded to the web almost immediately after an artist's performance. Altec took things a step further and added a built in Wi-Fi feature that will allow artists to stream their sets live as they play their shows. This is certainly something that fans and artists both will certainly be excited about.

In addition, Altec has integrated the video editing software for iPhone and Android, Magisto, that files through the recording and automatically selects the best footage from the recording, which will allow artists to send out promo videos, new tracks they've played, or clips of their show to any/all of their social media accounts almost instantaneously.

Expected to be released this spring, Altec is said to be pricing the headphones for an MSRP of $199.99, accoring to PRNewsWire.

Needless to say, Altec has come up with a very unique concept, as they've essentially integrated a GoPro into a headphone, with some really unique features to go along with it. When the headphones are released, it will be interesting to see how well this product is received by DJs and Artists, as most DJ's, when performing, are using incredibly high quality headphones to mix in front of large crowds.

If Altec has in fact created a high-quality headphone with all of its additional features, it could change the way DJs interact with fans and how they run their social media accounts moving forward. You can find more information about the headphones and extensive specifications through PRNewsWire's CES report here.

Can you imagine watching Tiesto perform live at Tomorrowland in front of 180,000 people from his point of view!? Pretty intuitive and cool.
