Clay Aiken may have launched to fame on season 2 of American Idol, but he's no longer a big fan of the show. Despite appearing on the season 15 premiere on Wednesday night (Jan. 6) to help with the auditioning process, the "Invisible" singer live-tweeted the show and quickly dissed the current judges, Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban.

Aiken tweeted out to his 725,000 Twitter followers that he was tuning in to Idol for the first time in 10 years last night at 8:08 p.m., and it didn't even take him a full hour to tire of the show, calling the judging and auditioning process less entertaining than a root canal.

The singer-turned-politician had an idea about why American Idol was a hit in the first place: original judge Simon Cowell, who left the show after its ninth season in 2010.

Aiken, who turned off the show at its midway point to watch Tyra Banks' cameo on Blackish, said that he only criticized Idol because he loves the show and knows what it could be capable of.

Despite criticism from one of its biggest stars, American Idol's 15th and final season will continue tonight (Jan. 7) on FOX.
