St. Lucia have shared the latest single "Love Somebody" from the group's upcoming album Matter. The new single is latest from the group's sophomore LP, which will be release on Jan. 29 just ahead of their winter tour.
Slower than the other singles "Dancing On Glass" and "Physical," "Love Somebody," is a nostalgic love ballad with strong influences from the 1980's - like a lot of their music. The group, fronted by Jean-Philip Grobler, keep their vintage dance pop sound intact, while Grobler croons about longing for for a special somebody.
"It's sexy and naughty and is really about longing," keyboardist/Grobler's wife Patti Beranek said of the track via Consequence of Sound. "Maybe it's something secret that you can't tell anyone about. A need to be with somebody, maybe anybody, and feel desired. It's about how simple that need can be, and how simple it sometimes is to satisfy. Let's just call it a booty call song that's also about the romance of the booty call.
"Love Somebody" is the third single to emerge from Matter, which will be released on Jan. 29. Fans can pre-order a copy of the LP on iTunes.
Grobler and the rest of St. Lucia will kick off their tour the day after the LP is released at Webster Hall on Jan. 30. From there, the group will perform in cities across North America like Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Kansas City, Denver, San Francisco and Los Angeles. They will be joined by Tigertown and Grace Mitchell for select dates.
