Moderat, the hybrid trio of Apparat's Sascha Ring and Modeselektor's Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, have announced that its new album, titled III, is due to drop April 1st. The electronic trio will be touring internationally in support of the new release; those tour dates are listed below at the end of this article.

The album is the third installment in the outfit's electronic pop trilogy, Resident Advisor reports. III follows 2013's II and 2009's Moderat. Both albums saw Moderat masterfully combine Apparat's minimal, introspectively ambient sound with Modeselektor's hard-hitting take on IDM, infused with a pop sensibility.

The previous two LPs in the trilogy saw the group walk the line between a heavier Berlin club sound and purely blissful pop. The result has been a series of albums for bass-loving techno aficionados to share with friends who might prefer their music more mainstream. While they have yet to share any tracks from the forthcoming album, one can only assume that the trio continues to develop these genre-defying sensibilities on what the conclusion to the trilogy.

III is being co-released by Mute Records, the UK imprint that's been known for promoting the likes of Depeche Mode, Erasure and Moby since the 1970s, and Monkeytown Records, Bronsert and Szary's Berlin-based label.

Apparat is currently concluding a tour. Meanwhile, as Brooklyn Vegan reports, Modeselektor have a number of tour dates coming up--including the final date of the 50Weapons imprint's farewell tour as well as a DJ set at Igloofest--before Bronsert and Szary embark on tour with Ring as Moderat.

The outfit shared a trailer video for their upcoming tour, which you can check out below. The dates follow.
