Harry Styles may be prepping for a solo career, after all. On Monday (Feb. 1), it was confirmed that in the wake of One Direction's hiatus that the 22-year-old pop singer has left 1D's management company Modest Management and will instead join the ranks of Los Angeles' Creative Artists Agency.

According to Billboard, Modest (who still manages One Direction as well as acts such as 5 Seconds of Summer, Little Mix and Olly Murs) has parted ways with Styles regarding his solo career. Instead, he has been turned over to CAA agent Jeffery Azoff (son of industry veteran Irving Azoff).

"We wish Harry the very best. It has been a real pleasure working with him," Modest executives Richard Griffiths and Harry Magee said in a statement. "Harry is a total gentleman, and we know our good friend Jeffrey Azoff will look after him. We look forward to sharing some great wine with them next time we are in L.A."

Styles follows in the footsteps of his former bandmate Zayn Malik, who left Modest Management for Purple PR Media in September before launching his solo career with "Pillowtalk" last week.

The new management team is just the latest rumblings in a solo career for Styles, who has been a longtime favorite in One Direction. In December, Styles registered four new songs as a solo writer and performer, "Coco," "Endlessly," "Already Home" and "5378 Miles."

Despite the seemingly pending solo stint for Styles, One Direction maintains that its hiatus is just indefinite, not permanent. After break up rumors sparked last month, a representative for 1D said "Nothing has changed regarding hiatus plans for the group, and all will be revealed in due time from the band members' own mouths."
