The legal saga between Rita Ora and Jay Z's Roc Nation continues. After the "Body on Me" singer filed a lawsuit to leave her label and representation in December, Roc Nation has now fired back and counter-sued Ora for $2.3 million.

According to The Wrap, Roc Nation is suing Ora for money they claim they put into the making of her music, including her as-of-yet unreleased sophomore effort, which they claim to have poured over $2 million in to. Roc Nation also claims that Ora was signed on to deliver five albums, and she has only released one.

Roc Nation's countersuit is in response to Ora's filing to be freed of her Roc Nation contract. The 25-year-old singer claims that Roc Nation has lost interest in her career and is instead focusing its efforts on Tidal and sports management.

Despite the struggles between Ora and her label, her lawyer claims that this new lawsuit is just a technicality from Roc Nation's distributor Sony Music, and that Jay Z has promised that Ora will be freed from her contract shortly.

"Jay Z has personally and graciously promised Rita complete freedom from Roc Nation, the details of which are now being finalized," attorney Howard King said. "We believe that Roc Nation's distributor, Sony Music, has required Roc Nation to file this action to preserve whatever rights Sony might have pending resolution."

The Roc Nation lawsuit is just the latest road bump in Ora's short career. Her sophomore album was also put in jeopardy when her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris barred her from using any collaborations, including the 2014 single "I Will Never Let You Down," for promotional purposes.

Her album Ora was released in 2012.
