Although the rest of the world is still coming down from Beyonce’s weekend domination with the release of her new single “Formation”, a sizzling Super Bowl 50 halftime show performance and an announcement of a new world tour, apparently First Lady Michelle Obama may have had prior knowledge of the happenings.
On Sunday (Feb. 7) ahead of the Super Bowl 50 kick off, the Obamas sat down for an interview with Gayle King, which is where the First Lady hinted that she knew more about Bey's 2016 plans than the rest of us.
“I care deeply about the halftime show. I got dressed for the halftime show. I hope Beyoncé likes what I have on.” Mrs. Obama said jokingly. The First Lady wore all black for the occasion, in solidarity with Beyonce and her dancers who also dressed in all black. Beyonce’s dancers appeared to be fashioned after the Black Panthers Party, a massive organization in the 1960s fighting for equality and justice for people of color.

It comes as no big surprise if Beyonce had indeed filled in the First Lady of her plans to slay at Super Bowl 50’s Halftime Show. The two have always had a close camaraderie with one another which more than likely stems back to Beyonce's involvement with Mrs. Obama's Move Your Body! Campaign in 2011. Not to mention, Beyonce was a guest singer at the First Lady’s 50th birthday party at the Whitehouse in 2014.
