DMX nearly died on Monday night (Feb. 8) after being found not breathing and without a pulse outside of a hotel in Yonkers, New York. The "How's It Goin' Down" rapper was then resuscitated by police, hospitalized and has now recovered.

According to TMZ, a 45-year-old male was found lying unconscious outside of a Ramada Inn in Yonkers on Monday night, and that man was since identified as DMX. After being nearly lifeless for an undetermined amount of time, cops performed CPR for about a minute on the rapper and gave him a dose of Nacan, an antidote to opiate overdoses. After the administration of CPR and the antidote, DMX was resuscitated.

The rapper then underwent hospitalization and has made a recovery. The Associated Press reports that DMX is now out of the hospital.

There are conflicting reports about why, exactly, DMX was found unconscious.

TMZ reports that he was spotted ingesting "some sort of powder" before collapsing. However, DMX's camp is denying that he took any drugs or powders, despite being administered Narcan. Instead, they are insisting that the rapper suffers from asthma and has been experiencing a shortness of breath and bronchitis over the last few days. He reportedly asked for his inhaler shortly before collapsing.

DMX is best known for his abrasive rapping style and late '90s/early 2000 singles "How It's Goin' Down," "Party Up (Up in Here)," and "Who We Be."

DMX was just released from jail in September 2015 after serving three months of a six month sentence for failing to pay $400,000 in child support.
