Ahead of his television debut as a solo star on Wednesday (Feb. 17), Zayn Malik tweeted that he "may have a surprise for you." And, boy, did he ever. During his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (which is making a stopover in Los Angeles this week), Zayn premiered a new track off his new album Mind of Mine, the sultry "It's You." In addition to the "Pillowtalk" follow-up, Zayn also showed off his throwback album artwork.

Rumored to be about his former fiancée Perrie Edwards of Little Mix, "It's You" is less about the sex side of a relationship (a la "Pillowtalk") and more about the actual love. Though Zayn was notably nervous and slightly frigid during the performance, the high notes sounded soothing as they wrapped around the song's smooth R&B beat.

But, Zayn's signature range and new single wasn't his only big debut on The Tonight Show.

Zayn's Mind of Mine album cover features an intimate childhood snapshot of the former One Direction star. In a smiley photo that looks like it could have been for an elementary school yearbook, a young Zayn mugs for the camera. But, like Lil Wayne's Tha Carter series, Zayn's signature adulthood tattoos are included on his baby body.

Mind of Mine will be released on March 25, the one year anniversary of Zayn's departure from One Direction. "It's You" is the album's second officially released song, following "Pillowtalk." Other rumored tracks include "Mind of Mine," "Befour" and "Wrong."
