We all know that Drake stays very true to his roots, most notably his hometown of Toronto, Canada and his diverse heritage. He was raised Jewish due to that being his mother's religion, which is a commonly known fact about the popular rapper. This week, he helped one lucky NYC girl celebrate her important transition into adulthood with the religion's very important celebration- a Bat Mitzvah. Perhaps he was hoping to make her big day as special as his own Bar Mitzvah, but he went above and beyond when he performed a bunch of his songs including the new track "Summer Sixteen" off of the upcoming Views from the Six album, the remix of Fetty Wap's "My Way," and, of course, "Hotline Bling."

Bar and Bat Mitzvah's can either be very great or very awkward when you look back on them years later, depending on what happened. A perfect example would be my own Bar Mitzvah from 2000. The theme (because every Bar/Bat Mitzvah has to have a theme - my brother's was "sports") was "Pro Wrestling." I had a life-size cutout of The Rock and ran out to his WWF (before it was WWE) theme song. Clearly, this was embarrassing.

Luckily for this new teen, Drake as a special guest performing some of the top hits of the year is clearly not embarrassing at all. It makes for quite the story to share from years to come, and is obviously getting covered by a few music publications.
