Taylor Swift's ALA Celebrity Read campaign poster
Books can take you places and open doors you would never get to walk through and Taylor Swift knows this. Despite all of her world travels, the singer/songwriter can frequently be found with a book in her hand, stepping into stories and worlds she would never visit despite her fame. This week, Swift showed off her love of the written word by becoming the latest celebrity to join the ALA Celebrity Read campaign.

In her poster, Taylor poses with Lois Lowry's young adult classic The Giver, which was the recipient of the 1994 Newbery Medal and will be heading to the big screen on August 15, 2014. In the movie, Taylor will play Rosemary, acting alongside Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges and Katie Holmes.

Since its creation in 1985, over 200 celebrities, musicians and cultural icons have participated in the ALA Celebrity Read campaign. Posters featuring the celebs can be found in libraries all over the country. Taylor Swift joins the current batch of stars being featured that includes: Aishwarya Rai, Anthony Hopkins, Bill Gates, Colin Farrell, Corbin Bleu, Henry Cavill, Hilary Swank, Hugh Jackman, Jeff Corwin, Jeff Probst, John Lequizamo, Julia Stiles, Keira Knightley, Kelly Ripa, Los Lonely Boys, Margaret Cho, Mat Hoffman, Nathan Fillion, Orlando Bloom, Rachel McAdams, Renee Fleming, Salma Hayek, Sasha Cohen, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Stephen Hawking, Taraji P.
