Jason Derulo has actually proved in the past that he can sing his various hits live, but for once he doesn't even have to try. The "If It Ain't Love" singer is the next star tapped to appear on the bizarrely popular Spike TV program Lip Sync Battle, and in a newly posted preview, he looks pretty super freaky.

Derulo channels the iconic Rick James on an upcoming episode of Lip Sync Battle with a dedicated performance of James' biggest hit "Superfreak." In a snippet released by Spike on Monday (April 4), Derulo can be seen fully in character with James' signature dreadlocks on his head and a jumpsuit with an incredibly salacious deep-V neckline on his body.

The performance doesn't seem incredibly removed from Derulo's normal live fare - he caresses some bodacious babes and acts particularly naughty (or, should we say, freaky) and pulls off some very groin-centric dance moves. So, you know, other than the '70s-inspired costume, it's just another ol' day for Jason Derulo.

But still, this lip synced performance just has to be seen to be fully appreciated.

Derulo's performance of Rick James' "Superfreak" is set to air on the Thursday (April 7) episode of Lip Sync Battle, in which Derulo takes on his good pal (???) Katharine McPhee.

Derulo's appearance on Lip Sync Battle follows a big week for the 26-year-old R&B singer. On Friday (April 1), he released his first new single since Everything Is 4, the rather infectious "If It Ain't Love." Derulo also pulled off a hosting stint at the iHeartRadioMusic Awards on Sunday (April 3).
