AC/DC's lead singer Brian Johnson has announced that his band will most likely be touring again later this year, which would be the band's first tour since 2010. The announcement came yesterday in an update posted on brianjohnsonracing.com, Johnson's website for his car racing TV series Cars That Rock.

The statement reads:

"Hello everyone, i just wanted to thank everyone for their kind words about Cars That Rock. Your encouragement means a lot to me. This was my first ever go at presenting a TV series and even though it may not show, I was real nervous and so am very relieved that you all seem to be enjoying it. We hope to bring you more shows in the near future but, of course, there is the slight distraction of my day job with AC/DC - and it looks very likely that we will be on the road again before the end of the year. So stand by for more music - and more Cars That Rock. thanks - Brian."

This announcement comes as a pleasant surprise for AC/DC fans, who were unsure of the band's future after rhythm guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young fell ill back in April. AC/DC originally had plans for a 40th anniversary tour, but were cut short when Young announced that he would be "taking a break from the band due to ill health."

Despite Young's absence, AC/DC confirmed that it still had plans to record a new album in Vancouver, its first since 2008's Black Ice.
