It seems the stereotype of the Latin lover might have some truth to it, at least that what Demi Lovato believes. In a recent interview with Latina magazine, the singer opened up about her relationship with boyfriend, Wilmer Valerrama, and explained why the white men she's dated in the past don't measure up to Latino men when it comes to passion.

When it comes to Lovato's dating history, the "Stone Cold" singer has been linked to a string of white celebrities like DNCE frontman, Joe Jonas, Miley Cyrus' older brother Trace Cyrus, and former Disney star, Cody Linley. Love took on an entirely different form when things got serious with Valderrama, who is of Colombian and Venezuelan descent.

The 23-year-old Texas has been romantically involved with 36-year-old Valderrama since 2010 and since then the two have been giving fans and media outlets everywhere serious #RelationshipGoals. Lovato says she's very fortunate to have the former That '70s Show star in her life as a partner and a close friend. She cites him as being a great support system.

“When I dated white guys, it wasn’t as passionate as my relationship with Wilmer," Lovato told Latina. "Maybe that’s just Wilmer. But I do believe that Latin people are just more expressive, more passionate with their emotions. He’s very manly, and he can be stubborn like Latino men can, but he’s protective and he cares so much and loves so hard.”

The feeling is mutual for Valderrama as well. In various social media posts, he gushes about how proud he is of Lovato's work and how the two of them can even have fun together watching paint dry. Valderrama's mother has also grown a strong liking to Lovato, who is of partial Mexican descent.

For the days she can take a break from touring and making award show appearances, receives authentic cooking lessons at Casa Valderrama. Despite the slight language barrier with Valderrama's Spanish-speaking mother, Lovato manages to keep up with her in the kitchen.

"His mom teaches me to cook. She showed me how to make arepas," Lovato said. "I can understand Spanish better than I can speak it. I'm not good at retaining information or even my own song lyrics, so remembering an entire language has been difficult for me. #SayNoToDrugs," Lovato jokingly added.
