Organizers have reported that Lollapalooza Colombia is now canceled following the drop-out of its lead headliner Rihanna. Unfortunately for the organizers, the Colombian Lollapalooza had not yet seen its first year at the time of cancellation.

The news was released via the festivals official website and it has been reported that all ticket holders will receive a full refund. The festival had been slated to occur on Sept. 17 and 18 in Simon Bolivar Park in Bogota, and the likes of Disclosure, Lana Del Rey and Wiz Khalifa had been scheduled to perform.

According to New York Daily News, Colombian station RCN Radio Rihanna was slated to be the headliner and once she bowed out the organizers weren’t able to find a replacement of the same caliber. It has also been reported that she was invited, but did not have the dates open.

As translated by Billboard, Lollapalooza Colombia released a statement that read, “After its lead artist canceled just hours before the festival was slated to announce the lineup, and faced with difficulties in finding the right replacement, the organizers of the festival have been forced to cancel the inaugural Lollapalooza Colombia. The fest was set for Sept. 17 and 18 in Parque Simon Bolivar in Bogota.”

The statement further read, “Everyone who purchased tickets will receive full reimbursement, including the service cost. Organizers of Lollapalooza Colombia want to express their deep thanks to all fans who supported the fest from day one, as well as sponsors and supporters. We hope we can come back in the future and make this first edition of the festival a reality.”
