Contrary to rumors, Swedish House Mafia are not reuniting in 2017, at least according to the latest information released.

Reunion rumors have been swirling since the group left the music industry following a performance in Miami. The group comprising Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso haven’t played together since Ultra 2013 and was a fan favorite.

Hopeful fans got riled up again due to some comments made by YouTube curator Proximity, who shared a Facebook photo reading “Hello Swedish House Mafia. 2017” that has already been taken down.

Proximity then elaborated on the post in a statement according to Billboard, saying, “What I can say is that I have spoken to a few people in the music industry that Swedish House Mafia is indeed coming back in 2017 for a tour that is already confirmed. Disclaimer: But what I heard about the tour was not said or confirmed by Axwell, Sebastian Ingress, Steve Angello or their team.”

Axwell and Ingresso issued a quick response to the reunion rumors, saying, “At this point we’re not planning on reuniting and we have really no further comments on what the future of SHM looks like.”

This past February Axwell did an interview with BBC’s Newsbeat that did not rule out the possibility of a reunion, saying, “Obviously it’s a great thing that we have done and we loved every minute of it, but now we’re enjoying this new ride and I think Steve is probably the same. I think we’re all in our happy places right now.”

He went on to suggest that there was a possibility of a reunion, saying, “Having said that, it would be stupid of me to say never [referring to the possibility of the three joining forces again]. Maybe one day something will happen inside of us that says ‘boom,’ but it’s more [likely to be] coming from us than at a festival.”

Axwell has also teased the possibility of a reunion on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio show in the past, and mentioned that the group members think about it. But then a month later, he again put the rumors to rest.
