When Kanye West comes calling, most of the time people say yes. However, Swedish commercial giant IKEA has rebuffed an offer by Yeezy to collaborate on various pieces of furniture, architecture and interior design. As much as that might sound appealing to a brand considering the success he has had with Adidas, notably their sneakers, IKEA has said no.

In a statement to CNBC, an IKEA spokesperson noted they were always looking for unique collaborations but were not interested in working with Mr. West at this time.

"At IKEA we are constantly curious about different people, companies, artists and events around the world. To have these connections and inspiring meetings is an important way for us to find new ways to create a better everyday life for the many people. Although we are really flattered by Kanye West's high interest in IKEA and the speculation around a joint venture, we have no plans to collaborate at this point in time."

That did not stop the IKEA Australia Facebook from having a little fun with the whole thing by quoting the song "Famous" with a picture of a futon of sorts. "Hej Kanye, we'd love to see what you'd create...we could make you Famous!," reads the post.

The whole affair between IKEA and Kanye West started back in March when the rapper tweeted that he was interested in working with the Swedish brand. Then in an interview with Annie Mac that aired yesterday, he echoed that sentiment calling on them to allow him to make products for them.

"Yo IKEA, allow Kanye to create. Allow him to make this thing because you know what, I want a bed that he makes, I want a chair that he makes - I want more products from Ye," he said to Mac.

IKEA maybe passing on something big because there could be plenty of college kids who would want a bed or chair by 'Ye in their dorm room in the next fall season.
