North Carolina born electronic music producer and performer Machinedrum has announced the details for his new album Human Energy. To kick off the promotional cycle, he has released his single with D∆WN, titled "Do It 4 U" and announced a brief North American tour in October and early November.

The 15-track LP will be released on Sept. 30 via Ninja Tune.

The first single is an energetic blend of electronic music that draws upon influences from all over the dance spectrum. With its 8-bit synths, frenetic drum beats and soft, melodic interludes, Machinedrum crafts a beat that one normally wouldn't peg for D∆WN, but they do match here.

In a statement, Machinedrum explains why he chose human energy as the title of the album.

"It's an exchange of energy through sound," he says. "It's a healing experience. We're living in dark times and with so much negativity existing in the world I want to be a rare voice of positivity."

The album features other such as Melo-X and Jesse Boykins III.

The tour will kick off on Oct. 5 in Seattle and over the next 10 days he will play five shows in Chicago, New York City, Miami, Toronto and Montreal. Then the tour will pick back on Nov. 2 with a few more shows along the Western half of the United States. Get tickets on his website.
