ABC's Rising Star host Josh Groban will sit in as the guest of this coming July 11's episode of IFC's Comedy Bang! Bang!. In order to promote the appearance – or perhaps just to have some good-hearted fun – Groban stepped in alongside CBB's sidekick Reggie Watts to make some sweet, sweet music completely outside of his usual style.

Comedian-musician Reggie Watts has been manning the Reggie Makes Music web series for a little while now, inviting in the likes of Fred Armisen, Zach Galifianakis, Sarah Silverman, and Mad Men star Jon Hamm as past guests to create beats completely out of improvisation.

"We just go for it," Watts recently told Billboard, "We tell them, 'You can do whatever you want – sing, recite poetry, play an instrument – it's always open."

The "You Raise Me Up" singer's appearance on Reggie Makes Music succeeds in proving that his skills don't stop at singing, piano or even acting. "When someone has some intense musical chops," Watts says, "it's a nice opportunity to just let it go for a while. When we were jamming, it was more about music stuff than being funny."

The multi-platinum artist's episode of CBB will be the season three finale. In the clip for this Friday's show, host Scott Aukerman can be seen impersonating a 1950s Edward R. Murrow-like style for their interview.

Check out Groban make some music alongside Reggie Watts and part of his episode at Billboard.

And why not check out Jon Hamm's freestyle chops?
