John Legend has unveiled the latest single to emerge from his upcoming album Darkness and Light. Linking up with Chance The Rapper, the "All of Me" singer has unveiled his funky, smooth new single "Penthouse Floor."

As one might expect, the tune is silky smooth with a hint of funk and gospel that fits with what Chance The Rapper is doing right now.

John Legend sings the first two verses about taking a woman out on the town, navigating the paparazzi and other trappings of fame. They look to escape all of that by heading up to the penthouse floor, way above the rest of the world.

"Once you're above the city lights / Won't want to spend another night, down there on your own / The holding on is made for us / The altitude is dangerous, but we ain't going home," coos Legend in the second verse.

Chance then comes in and continues that theme of love and luxury.

This is the second single to emerge from Legend's upcoming album Darkness and Light. It was premiered earlier today on Beats 1 with Zane Lowe.

Darkness and Light will be released on Dec. 2 via Columbia Records. In addition to Chance the Rapper, the LP has a few other impressive features from Miguel and Alabama Shakes singer Brittany Howard. Pre-order the LP here.
