A Prince documentary underway, and will feature the likes of Bono, Billy Idol and Mick Jagger. The documentary is being released by German film distribution company Ascot Elite Entertainment Group and is reportedly due out next year in Europe.

Screendaily and Rolling Stone both reported the documentary is entitled Prince: R U Listening?, and that will be directed by Michael Kirk. The documentary will chronicle Prince’s career and will feature interviews with early associates and collaborators, including Bono, Mick Jagger, Billy Idol, Lenny Kravitz and Sheila E.

An American release date has yet to be confirmed, although it is being produced by the United States company 13 Films.

Purple Rain will also reportedly be re-issued next year and will include unreleased material from the artist.

A greatest hits album entitled Prince 4Ever was released just before Thanksgiving (Nov. 22). The album includes 40 well-known songs, and also includes “Moonbeam Levels,” which was previously unreleased.

The plans to reissue a deluxe version of his 1984 classic album, Purple Rain, were reportedly “agreed [upon] with Prince before he passed away."

Rumors are circulating that a third album containing unheard songs that will be released by NPG Records and Warner Bros will not be the last. The two major labels are reportedly negotiating the rights to Prince’s life work, and are willing to pay upwards of $35 million for it.

Many unreleased songs by the late singer are also reportedly up for sale and his estate is still unsure of what exactly is in the vault, as the process of cataloging the recordings has just begun.
