M.I.A has finally released her track "Goals." Safe to say, it was worth the wait.

The track is produced by Portuguese artist Branko, who also worked with M.I.A on her 2016 album, AIM. M.I.A put out a visual for the track which is a compilation of GIFs made by photographer Jaime Martinez. She also decided to leave a sweet message in her description box for her fans. Her message stated, "DEDICATED TO MY HARDCORE FANS THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNFALTERING DEDICATION AND SUPPORT. YOU HAVE GIVEN ME A SLIVER OF HOPE IN HUMANITY. STAY STRONG. REALITY WINNERZ."

In the track M.I.A states the different type of goals. She says, "Every step, every blow we're always going to get goals. Relationship goals are you and me.... Love is the answer what's the question I don't know. Staring at the wall and I'm waiting for the call."

This is M.I.A's most recent work since releasing her previous album, AIM, which didn't receive much positive feedback. The Guardian said, "...Global-facing pop songs that somehow have no place: too slow for a club, too confrontational for the bedroom, too skatty for the radio. It sounds as if AIM was made exclusively for MIA's benefit: one final eruption of inventive and sometimes incoherent ideas. Apt, perhaps, that an artist so vehemently punk bows out with an album so stubbornly hers."

According to PitchFork, the video will be shown as artwork throughout Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall. This will take place during M.I.A's Meltdown festival and will feature a variety of artists. There will be performances from Giggs (who most recently collaborated with Drake on More Life), Mykki Blanco, Yung Lean, I Wayne, Dexta Daps, Crystal Castles, MHD, Mr Eazi, Afrikan Boy, Princess Nokia, and Young M.A. The festival runs from June 9 to June 18. M.I.A will headline on the last day.
