Dave Chappelle has had two stand-up specials on Netflix so far, both of which were energic outbursts of polemical and perceptive talking points from the comedy legend, discussing race, white privilege, O.J. Simpson, and how he's jealous of Kevin Hart.

In the third salvo of this three-part Netflix comedy saga, titled Dave Chappelle: Equanimity, Chapelle treads controversial ground trying out his new anti-Trump material. The change in tone is surprising yet understandable — the third part is the only special shot specifically for Netflix, while the other two were previously unreleased material.

The last part of the trilogy has Chapelle talking about topics that are timelier, more urgent. In a new just-released teaser, Chapelle reflects on the 2016 presidential election and how he felt enormous pity for Donald Trump supporters, particularly "poor white people."

"I stood with them in line like all Americans are required to do in a democracy — nobody skips the line to vote — and I listened to them," he said. "I listened to them say naive poor white people things: 'Man, Donald Trump's gonna go to Washington and he's gonna fight for us.'"

"I'm standing there thinking in my mind, 'You dumb motherfuc***. You. Are. Poor. He's fighting for me.'" The audience roars into laughter.

While the special was filmed a while back, it wouldn't be surprising if Chappelle's commentary still stings a lot of Americans, particularly with Congress passing the tax bill, which doesn't seem to represent the interest and welfare of the lower class.

This is a change of opinion for Chappelle, who during a previous Saturday Night Live monologue, just after Trump was elected president, said that people should give him a chance. Since then, the comedian has developed a much harsher view of Trump and his actions, and he even apologized for suggesting that Trump should be given the benefit of the doubt.

Equanimity is Chappelle's third stand-up comedy special on Netflix, available for streaming on Dec. 31. Netflix reportedly paid $60 million, $20 million for each special. The previous specials, Deep in the Heart of Texas: Dave Chappelle Live at Austin City Limits and The Age of Spin: Dave Chappelle Live at the Hollywood Palladium, are both currently available to stream on Netflix.
